ABFAEDAmazing Brain Foundation

Education. Technology. Advocacy. Opportunity.

Creating opportunities for people and communities to thrive.

ABFAED works with vulnerable children, young people, women and underserved communities in Nigeria to expand access to education, technology, opportunity, dignity and sustainable support.

Or support our mission.

Established 2026

Built on more than fifteen years of working alongside children, families and educators in Lagos.

Who we are

A young foundation, rooted in long experience.

The Amazing Brain Foundation for Advocacy Education and Development (ABFAED) is a Nigerian nonprofit established in 2026. We work to empower vulnerable children, young people and women through education, technology, advocacy, economic empowerment and practical community support.

ABFAED grew out of more than fifteen years of educational work through Amazing Brain School in Lagos — experience that revealed needs reaching far beyond the classroom.

Read our story
  • Rooted in real experience

ABFAED builds on more than fifteen years of grassroots educational and community presence through Amazing Brain School — we are not starting from a vacuum.

  • Institutional rigour from day one

We combine grassroots empathy with strong legal, administrative and technological foundations, including formal registration and board governance.

  • A holistic focus

We connect education, technology, nutrition and gender advocacy rather than operating in a single, isolated silo.

Who we serve

  • Vulnerable children
  • Educationally disadvantaged children
  • Out-of-school children and young people
  • Low-income families
  • Young people needing digital and employability skills
  • Girls and vulnerable women
  • Communities experiencing poverty and food insecurity

Why we exist

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.

Years in the classroom showed us that many children and families face barriers no school can solve alone. ABFAED was created to respond to them.

  1. Education inequality

Capable children are held back when families cannot meet basic educational costs.

  2. Digital exclusion

Limited access to technology leaves young people unprepared for today's economy.

  3. Poverty and unemployment

Economic hardship forces families into impossible choices between basic needs.

  4. Food insecurity

Hunger and poor nutrition undermine children's health and learning.

  5. Gender barriers

Girls and women face obstacles to dignity, education and economic independence.

  6. Limited opportunity

Young people lack practical skills and pathways to participate fully in society.

Our approach

How we intend to work

Six principles guide how every ABFAED programme is designed, delivered and judged.

  1. Listen

Start from the realities of children, families and communities — the same way our understanding of these challenges began.

  2. Equip

Provide the learning, skills, technology and practical resources people need to move forward.

  3. Empower

Build confidence, agency and independence, so that support leads to self-determined progress.

  4. Partner

Work with communities, institutions and organisations that share our goals, rather than in isolation.

  5. Measure

Define outcomes before programmes begin, track them honestly, and report what we find.

  6. Sustain

Design for lasting benefit, not temporary relief, and improve continually as we learn.

Global goals, local action

Aligned with six Sustainable Development Goals

Our pillars contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, giving partners a shared framework for planning and reporting.

  • SDG 1: No Poverty

Supporting vulnerable families and creating pathways toward improved livelihoods and economic opportunity.

  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger

Supporting vulnerable children and families experiencing food and nutrition challenges.

    Delivered through

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

Promoting dignity, wellbeing, healthy living and community health awareness.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education

Expanding access to quality, relevant and inclusive education and learning opportunities.

  • SDG 5: Gender Equality

Supporting girls and vulnerable women through dignity, empowerment, advocacy, education and opportunity.

    Delivered through

  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Promoting technology access, digital skills, innovation and relevant infrastructure for young people and communities.

Impact

Our impact journey is beginning.

ABFAED was established in 2026. Rather than estimates, we will report measured outcomes as our programmes begin — with the evidence behind them.

How we measure impact
  • Baselines first

Each programme defines who it serves and what it aims to change before delivery begins.

  • Outcome indicators

Every pillar tracks a small set of meaningful indicators, not just activity counts.

  • Published reporting

Programme results, annual reports and financial information will be published here.

  • Honest numbers

We will only publish figures we can evidence, and explain how they were gathered.

Rooted in experience

Born from experience. Built for broader impact.

ABFAED did not begin from a blank page. It began with what fifteen years in education taught us about the lives of children and families.

Our story
  1. Amazing Brain School

    2010

Amazing Brain School opens in Lagos

In September 2010, Amazing Brain School begins operating as a private educational institution, later providing education from preschool through secondary school.

  2. Amazing Brain School

    2010 – 2025

    Experience reveals wider needs

Years of working directly with children, parents and educators expose challenges a private school alone cannot address: educational costs, digital exclusion, family hardship, food insecurity and barriers facing girls and women.

  3. ABFAED

    2026

    ABFAED is established

ABFAED is formally established as an independent nonprofit — registered with the CAC and governed by a Board of Trustees — to respond to challenges extending beyond the classroom.

  4. Looking ahead

    Next

    Building programmes and partnerships

Designing measurable community programmes, forming partnerships and building the reporting discipline expected of a credible, transparent foundation.

Amazing Brain School and ABFAED are related by history but are separate organisations. ABFAED is an independent nonprofit with its own registration, governance and finances; it is not the fundraising arm of the school, and the school's activities are not ABFAED programmes.

Institutional credibility

Governed and accountable from day one

Trust should be earned through structure, not claimed through scale. These foundations are in place today.

Governance
  • CAC Registered

    Corporate Affairs Commission

ABFAED is formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.

  • Board-governed

    Board of Trustees

ABFAED is overseen by a Board of Trustees and operates under a written organisational constitution.

  • NNNGO Member

    Nigeria Network of NGOs

ABFAED is a member of the Nigeria Network of NGOs, which provides access to sector networking, capacity building and partnership opportunities.

  • TechSoup Validated

    TechSoup

TechSoup has validated ABFAED's nonprofit status, giving access to technology partner programmes. This is a status validation, not an endorsement of our programmes.
