ABFAEDAmazing Brain Foundation

Our story

Born from experience. Built for broader impact.

ABFAED was established in 2026 — but its understanding of the challenges facing children and families was built over more than fifteen years in a Lagos classroom.

Where it began

Fifteen years alongside children and families

Amazing Brain School has operated as a private educational institution in Lagos since September 2010, providing education from preschool through secondary school.

Working directly with children, parents and educators every day revealed something a school timetable cannot capture: many of the obstacles to a child's progress begin outside the classroom. Families struggling to pay educational costs. Children without access to technology. Parents facing unemployment. Children arriving hungry. Girls facing barriers to dignity and opportunity.

These were challenges a private school alone could not address. They called for a broader, structured and sustainable nonprofit response.

    2010 – 2025

    Experience reveals wider needs

    ABFAED is established

ABFAED is formally established as an independent nonprofit — registered with the CAC and governed by a Board of Trustees — to respond to challenges extending beyond the classroom.

    Building programmes and partnerships

Designing measurable community programmes, forming partnerships and building the reporting discipline expected of a credible, transparent foundation.

An important distinction

Related by history, separate by design

ABFAED is an independent nonprofit. It has its own registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, its own constitution, its own Board of Trustees and its own dedicated bank account.

It is not the charity or fundraising arm of Amazing Brain School, and activities carried out by the school over the years are not presented as ABFAED programmes. What ABFAED inherits is understanding: a grounded knowledge of the realities facing children, families and educators, and the relationships that come from long community presence.

In short

Amazing Brain School is a private school. ABFAED is a nonprofit foundation with a broader mandate: education, technology, advocacy, economic empowerment, food interventions and community support.
