Mission & vision

The future we are working toward

Our vision, mission and values define what ABFAED does, who it serves and how it behaves.

Our vision

To build an inclusive society where vulnerable children, young people, and women have access to quality education, technology, opportunities, and the support they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our mission

To empower vulnerable children, young people, and women through quality education, digital and technological skills, advocacy, economic and social empowerment, food and poverty interventions, partnerships, and sustainable community-development programmes.

Our values

Eight commitments that guide our work

Our values are how we expect to be held to account — by the people we serve, our partners and our supporters.

  • Integrity

We operate honestly, transparently, and responsibly.

  • Service

We exist to serve people and communities, particularly those who are vulnerable and underserved.

  • Dignity

We believe every child, young person, and woman deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

  • Excellence

We seek to deliver programmes responsibly and continually improve the quality of our work.

  • Inclusion

We create opportunities for people excluded because of poverty, gender, disability, or other disadvantages.

  • Accountability

We are committed to responsible stewardship of resources entrusted to us by donors, partners, and supporters.

  • Innovation

We believe technology, creativity, and new ideas can solve persistent social problems.

  • Sustainability

We want our programmes to produce lasting benefits rather than temporary interventions.
